Bree's sister, Laney, lives in California where she runs a tire store with her husband, Tuck. On hearing the news, she flies home to Minnesota. After a community outcry, the bookstore is saved, and the redevelopment site is moved across the street. Only then is the truth of Irma's circumstances revealed, and the family is forced to re-evaluate not only the bookstore, but their individual personal circumstances, too.
