Fans of Ben Aaronovitch's long-running Rivers of London series will thoroughly enjoy this collection of short stories set across the series' expanded universe. Narrator Kobna Holdbrook-Smith reprises his role as Peter Grant in the first part of the audiobook, continuing his exemplary work voicing the sarcastic, young policeman turned wizard. In the production's second part, a variety of narrators tackle a range of stories featuring many popular secondary characters, including Sam Peter Jackson's return as Tobias Winter from THE OCTOBER MAN and Shvorne Marks as Abigail Kamara. Though a full cast sometimes creates an uneven quality, here each narrator suits their role and brings something special to the audiobook. Aaronovitch himself narrates the introductions and transitions with charming insight and humor. N.M. © AudioFile 2021, Portland, Maine
