Space is a specialized architectural monthly which was first published in 1966 and has been at the vanguard of covering the arts and culture scene here in Korea ever since. The magazine features not only architecture, but also diverse cultural and artistic activities across the spectrum of the fine arts. Space offers its readers a wide variety of architectural news throughout Korea, in Asia, and the world in general. REFERENCE LINE, SECTION, SEQUENCE: HYUNJOON YOO + HYP ARCHITECTS 기 준 선, 단 면, 시 퀀 스: 유 현 준 + 에 이 치 와 이 피 건 축 사 사 무 소 에 이 치 와 이 피 건 축 사 사 무 소 • Led by Hyunjoon Yoo (Professor, Hongik University), HYP Architects (Principal, Jon Jiyoung) have emphasised that architecture is an act of designing relationships based on the premise that ‘space is information’. In their recent works which address a sense of publicness, such as an art museum, a library, a cultural centre, and a church, they follow a grammar that establishes a reference line and derives sectional changes in scenes and spaces according to a sequence. This grammar is the tool for establishing new relationships, dedicated to shifting perceptions through new spatial experiences and moving towards greater diversity in our everyday lives. 유현준(홍익대학교 교수)이 이끄는 에이치와이피건축사사무소(대표 전지영)는 ‘공간은 정보’라는 전제 위에서 건축이 관계 를 디자인하는 행위임을 강조해왔다. 미술관, 도서관, 문화센터, 교회와 같이 공공성을 띤 근작에서 이들은 기준선을 설정하 고 시퀀스에 따라 장면과 공간의 단면적 변화를 유도하는 문법을 따른다. 새로운 공간 경험을 통해 인식을 전환하고 삶의 다 양성으로 나아가기 위한, 관계 설정의 도구들이다.
